Born in 1961, Sanjiv Goenka is currently the Honorary Consul of Canada in Kolkata. In April 2001, he took over as the youngest-ever President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), was appointed Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-KGP) and currently serves on the board of the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata (IIM-Kolkata).
Sanjiv Goenka was a former President of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) as well as the All India Management Institute (AIMA), and a member of the Prime Minister's Council on Trade & Industry. He is also the current Chairman of the Board of Directors of Woodlands Medical Centre Ltd, Kolkata.
The younger son of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group's Chairman Emeritus, Late Dr. Rama Prasad Goenka, Sanjiv Goenka is married to Preeti. They have a daughter, Avarna, and a son, Shashwat.
Since its establishment as a family business by Ramdutt Goenka in 1820, the Goenkas have constantly innovated and diversified, adapting to changing times and laws, evolving from the domains of banking, textiles, tea and jute, to new-age ones industries such as Retail, IT and Communications, Entertainment, Power, Transmission, Tyres and Life Sciences.

Mr. Shashwat Goenka, 29 years of age, is a graduate from The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, with a Bachelor of Science in economics, specializing in finance, marketing and management. Mr. Goenka is the immediate ‘past President of Indian Chamber of Commerce and current Chairman of CII National Committee on Retail and FICCI Young Leaders Forum. He is also Executive Committee Member - National Executive Council, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry and Director - Retailers Association of India (RAI). Currently, Mr. Goenka is the Sector Head of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group's Retail & FMCG sector.
He is also a Director on the Boards of Spencer International Hotels Ltd, Phillips Carbon Black Limited (PCBL), Spencer's Retail Limited (SRL) and CESC Ventures Limited (CVL).
Mr. Goenka is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of CESC Limited.
Mr. Pradip Kumar Khaitan aged 73 years, B.Com, L.L.B., Attorney-at-Law (Bell Chambers Gold Medalist) is an eminent legal personality in the country. He is senior partner of Khaitan & Co., an eminent firm of lawyers and member of the Bar Council of India, Bar Council of West Bengal and Indian Council of Arbitration, New Delhi. His areas of specialization are commercial and corporate laws, tax laws, arbitration, intellectual property, foreign collaboration, mergers and acquisition, restructuring and de-mergers. Mr. Khaitan is on the board of several well-known companies in India. Mr. Khaitan's advice is sought in all matters where significant legal issues are involved.
Mr. C. K. Dhanuka is a graduate in Commerce and has over 33 years of experience in the industry. An industrialist by occupation, he is the Ex-Chairman of FICCI (Eastern Regional Council) and is also a member of the National Committee of FICCI. Mr. C.K Dhanuka was the Ex-Chairman of the Indian Tea Association and the Ex-Vice Chairman of the Tea Board. Providing industry wide leadership and management strategy may be deemed as his areas of expertise. He was also the Ex-President of the All India Organization of Employers.
Mr. Pratip Chaudhuri, former Chairman of State Bank of India (SBI), held several important posts in the Bank during his long tenure of service including the post of Deputy Managing Director of SBI's International Division. Mr. Chaudhuri has a vast experience in the banking sector.
Ms. Rekha Sethi, 50 years of age, is currently the Director General of All India Management Association (AIMA), one of the leading bodies for management in India. She started her career at the Centre for the Development of Telematics (C- dot) in 1985 and was with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for 17 years before joining AIMA. Ms. Sethi led the initiative to create high profile international events to promote India's economic interest and has raised AIMA's public profile to attract the country's top industry leaders and policy makers on its platform. A graduate in English Literature, Ms. Sethi has a post graduate diploma in Advertising and Marketing.
Mr. Debasish Banerjee, is an Electrical Engineer with proficiency in Business Management, having 34 years of rich and diverse industry experience. He has started his career from Areva and moved onto Crompton Greaves and Schneider Electric, heading Business Operations in Utilities, Industry Dealer Domain. In the last stint as CEO of Reliance Energy, contributed to improving Operational Efficiency through Business Processes Reengineering & Automation, thus improving bottom line and customer delight, while optimizing cost. In pursuit of his passion to deploy technology for radical change, he is continually engaged in disruptive Technological Innovations, for delivering a real time, digital experience, riding the new waves of mobility, loT, big data analytics & artificial intelligence.
Mr. Rabi Chowdhury is a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Jadavpur University in the year 1982. He joined CESC in the year 1984. Prior to that he was employed with Steel Authority of India Limited. He has vast experience of over 32 years in operation and maintenance of Thermal Power Generating Station - commissioning of 2 x 250 MW Budge Budge Generation Station of the Company, project development, engineering, execution and commissioning of CESC's x 250 MW Budge Budge III Unit and played a key role in erection and commissioning of 600 MW power plant of the Company's subsidiary Haldia Energy Limited where he is also acting as Managing Director.
Mr. Sunil Mitra retired in June 2011 from the office of Revenue & Finance Secretary, Government of India. In his public service career spanning over three and a half decades, he successfully spearheaded important policy initiatives in public finance at the national level, including a new disinvestment policy and far-reaching taxation reforms. During his earlier appointments under the West Bengal Government, he is credited with the design and implementation of significant public policy reforms in the State-owned Public Sector Enterprises and in restructuring the State's power sector.
After completing his term of public service, Mr. Mitra chaired a Committee in the Planning Commission between October 2011 and August 2012 tasked with a comprehensive review of the different sectors of our economy and formulate recommendations that would foster a vibrant ecosystem for entrepreneurship in the country.
Mr. Mitra also served as member of a Technical Advisory Panel set up by the Government of India, to review an Indian Power Sector Diagnostic Study Report prepared by the World Bank. Mr. Mitra serves as a Non-Official Member of the Eastern Regional Board of the Reserve Bank of India and as a Non-Executive & Independent Director on the Boards of a number of Public Companies.
Mr. Mitra is appointed as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of CESC Limited for a term of five years with effect from 14 November, 2019 subject to the approval of the members of the Company.
Mr. Debanjan Mandal is a Partner in Fox & Mandal, a premier multi-disciplinary law firm in Kolkata, established in 1896. The St. Xavier's alumnus has over 20 years of post-qualification experience in the fields of corporate and commercial laws, real estate, infrastructure, dispute resolution and mergers and acquisitions. He is a member of the Incorporated Law Society, High Court at Calcutta, Supreme Court Bar Association and International Bar Association, U.K. Mr. Mandal sits on the Boards of several companies in an array of sectors including in tea, retail, plywood and hospitality and is also a Member of the Executive Committee of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of ICC National Expert Committee on Corporate & Legal Affairs.
